Oscar Pistorius Resumes Light Training
Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius has resumed a “low-key” training routine despite his impending murder trial.
The 26-year-old South African was arrested and charged over the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in February. It has been suggested that he may return to the track while he awaits his fate, and latest rumours appear to bear this out.
A statement posted on his website on Thursday, confirmed he would begin to start a reduced training regime:
“Oscar has decided to resume a low-key track routine. Oscar is not contemplating a formal return to athletics and his training is not aimed at preparing for competition.
“His focus at this time remains entirely on the court case.
“His family, and those close to him, have encouraged him to spend a few hours a week on the track to assist him in finding the necessary mental and emotional equilibrium to process his trauma and prepare for the trial.”
